【摘要】In this paper,the role of English in the context of globalization is discussed.Firstly,the cayses and manifestations of globalizatinn are briefly reviewed.Secondly,the role of English as a medium of intercultural communication is discussed,and the major types of English in the world that have evolved along with globalization are elaborated.Thirdly,the drawbacks of cul-tural galobaization are also summarized.
