The differences between China and America
Every country has its own special culture, which has affected its natives. That is why people from different countries have different life attitude, manners and beliefs. In this report, I’d like to introduce the differences between China and America.
The report is organized in four different aspects: the house, the emotions between family members, the general description of lifestyles and the details.
First, I’d like to introduce the houses in both China and America. In China, the house is symmetrical, and it is the biggest characters of Chinese architect. What’s more, in China the houses are circled by walls, as if a secret tower which doesn’t want to be seen what its inside is like. Beside they are located closely, one by one. On the contrary, in America the house is open or circled by trees. In addition the house is isolated from others. In addition, the decoration inside is different also, in a Chinese house, it has more wooden furniture which has some meaning, however in a western house, you see a different view. In it you will see more glass facility than wooden ones, which is more luxurious. Secondly, there comes the relationship between family members. In a Chinese family, especially an ancient one, the parents mean authority, and the child must obey them. If the disobey them, they may be punished.
And there is a tendency that the parents are spoiling their children a lot. However in America, the children are expected to be independent from parents, and they are given enough respect to choose what they like and what to do. The parents and the children are equal and parents never order their children to do something they don’t like. This is the most obvious difference. What’s more, our Chinese are not as open as Americans. For example, American middle school students can have girl or boy friend and they are supported by their parents. Even they can bring their boy or girl friends to home, which is also a big difference.in china, if you do so, you may be punished heavily. In addition, American boys and girls may live in an apartment, which is less common in China.
Thirdly, I introduce the difference in a general summarize of lifestyle. In America, people are tend to rely on themselves, they less share or take happiness with each other, that makes their emotions are stronger. On the contrast, in China, people like to do things together, they like the feelings of lots of people having fun. And it accounts for the dependent feelings of Chinese children.
Last but not least, I’d like attach importance to the lifestyles of their natives. As we are more familiar with our tradition, I will tell more about America. In America, it’s a good tradition to give tips to waiters or waitress to express their thanks, but in China no. Another difference is that Americans open the gift the instant they receive it rather than put it
aside. If you don’t do like that, you may be seen impolite. It’s different in China.
Next I want to tell the differences of living habits from four aspects. The first one is food. As far as I’m concerned, Chinese food are popular in the world owing to its variety and fantastic taste. On the contrary, America people eat raw food more, which we can learn from the KFC. Next is the clothing, both the Chinese and American buy clothes more than do it. But the different is that American may buy secondhand clothes in a shop, which doesn’t not exist in china. The most well-known is the YARD SALE, people can buy things they need by it in a low price. And the owners can earn some money compared with throwing them away. Then I will talk about transportation. It’s worth to say that cars are pretty common in American family. Almost every family has a car, no matter you rich or poor. That’s also a big difference. Last is the activity. The most representative is the party, which has a range diversity. It may be called wedding party, birthday party and so on. It’s seen as an effective way to have a good time and to celebrate a meaning day, however it’s less or no popular in our country. In our country, if we want to celebrate a day, we may be only have a dinner together to celebrate. What’s more, it’s also popular to have a party in school or students themselves.
This is what I think.as I am not so familiar with the habits and belief of American people, so sure it may have some mistakes, hoping teacher to
