2015年6月，十二届全国人大常委会第十五次会议初次审议了“网络安全法”（cyber security law）草案，旨在维护网络空间主权和国家安全（safeguard cyberspace2 sovereignty and national security），惩治网络违法犯罪，使网络空间清朗起来。Cyber一词指“网络的”，如，cyber pal（网友）、cyber environment（网络环境）等。
