But today’s teens are likely to be surfing the Internet, texting, emailing, or playing video games right before bed. ____38_______ . And using them right before bed can result in difficulty getting to sleep. According to a survey by the National Sleep Foundation, teens with four or more electronic equipment in their rooms are much more likely than their peers to get an insufficient (不足的) amount of sleep at night, and are almost twice as likely to fall asleep in school and while doing homework.

____39_______ . In the National Sleep Foundation survey, three-quarters of the teens took at least one drink with caffeine (咖啡因) every day, and nearly one-third consumed two or more every day. With all the trendy “high-energy” drinks and coffees out there right now, it’s easy to get a caffeine overload and that’s not good for sleep.

So what can you do if you’re in lack of sleep? “The good news is that you only have to make up about a third of what you have lost, to function and feel better,” says Dr. Mahowald at a sleep disorders center. ____40_______ . In order to improve her discovery, Marie and her husband worked hardly. At last they saw at the dim blue light of new element-radium, which made her dream came true.

April 15, Sunday Fine

Today I visited the zoo with several classmates. Early in the morning, we got together at 7 am. outside our school gate. Then we went to the zoo on foot. It was half an hour’s walk. When we got there, the zoo was already full of people. There are many animals in the zoo, which were very interesting, but we were especially interested in monkeys. They made all kinds of faces and we also talked with some foreign guests in English. Laughing and chatting, we really had a good time. However, some people behaved very badly there. For example, they dropped litter everywhere, as well as spit freely in public, which made me depressed. I think it is everyone’s responsibility to behave themselves, since it’s well known that China is an ancient civilized country with a long history. I do hope changes will happen in the future. I really had an unforgettable time today.
