In recent years, there has been a general concern over the consumption of fossil fuels. Quite a few people argue that international community should act immediately to call for the decreasing use of these nonrenewable fuels, while others conceive differently and they maintain that countries with particular situations should make different choices. From my perspective, I vote for the former opinion.
There are several reasons for my viewpoint as rendered below. Firstly, since environmental problems like air pollution and global warming loom large, why don’t international community advocate the immediate reduction of fossil fuel consumption? Furthermore, thanks to the development of clean energy like the solar, wind, tidal or nuclear energy, it is feasible to reduce the use of oil and gas. Finally, it is impossible to achieve the sustainable development without the conservation of natural resources including fossil fuels.
Although some people believe that different countries have particular situations and economic
development may be more urgent than energy conservation in some countries, they seem to neglect the fact the sustainable economic development is crucial for any country. I feel that nothing is more absurd than pursuing the short-term interests at the cost of environmental conservation and healthy development.
From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that it is imperative to encourage the reduction in fossil fuel consumption despite some not-so-supportive voices. Only when we take a long perspective and look at the big picture can we avoid making some irreversible mistakes in our rapid economic development. 高级替换：
