4. surroundings n.周围的事物;环境 surrounding adj.周围的

8. adjustment n. 调整 调节 适应 make adjustment to 调整 调节 adjust v调整,使…适合 adjust (sth) to (doing) sth. 适应(做)某事

adjust oneself to (doing) sth. 使自己适应…

I tried to make the necessary adjustment to this new situation. 我努力调整适应新的环境时.
