Module 11 The weather

Unit 1 It may be cold tomorrow.

课型:听说课 【学习目标】

1. 知识目标:掌握下列重点单词和词组的意思及用法cloud, shower, centigrade, degree , temperature,freezing,snowy,joke,wet,might,windy,probably,sunny,cool,dry,cloudy 2. 能力目标:

a. 谈论并会描述天气。(What's the weather like today? What will the weather be like?) b. 会使用表示可能性的单词和句型。(must,might,may) 3.情感目标:了解各地的天气情况,养成关心他人的习惯。 【教学重难点】:

1.重点句式:You must be joking. It may not even be cold. It might be windy. We might go to Australia. What will the weather be like? We're off to Hong Kong. 2.难点:表示可能性的单词 may, must ,might的用法。 【教学过程】 [朗读单词]:

cloud,shower,centigrade,degree,temperature,freezing,snowy,joke,wetmight,windy,probably,sunny,cool,dry,cloudy等单词 根据音标读出单词并了解汉语意思,养成学生自主学习词汇的习惯,促使学生迅速进入学习状态。

[检查词汇预习]:

a.取学生结对、小组互查等形式来检查学生对词汇的预习情况。b.朗读单词,注意发音。 一、情境导入

教师可问学生: What's the weather like today? What will the weather be like tomorrow? 这样会调动学生用英语思维的积极性,引出 It's cloudy today. It may be cold tomorrow. 以此为情境,引入并复习本课所学的关于天气的单词,为下一步的听力扫清障碍。让学生谈论一下天气,并完成Activity 1, match the words with the symbols in the table (把单词和表格里的符号匹配一下). 二、小听力(自主完成,合作释疑)

听Activity 2 ,Listen to the weather forecast and check the correct information in the table. 三、大听力,多层听。

1. Listen to activity 4,选择正确答案:

小组间合作解决activity 4中不懂的地方,教师适时点拨。 五、突破重点与难点

(一)对重点内容和疑难问题进行合作探究学习。

1.We're going shopping for Spring Festival.意思是 _______________________。 本句是一个现在进行时态,但表示 。在英语中,可以用表示位置移动的动词(如:go, come, leave, arrive, fly等)的现在进行时态表示将来。

自主造句: _______________________________________________________. 2. You must be joking. 意为 。must是个情态动词,在本句中表示推测,可能性很大,翻译成 。

(1)might 可以,可能。might是情态动词 的过去式,可以用来表示推测。 [拓展]

常用的表示推测的情态动词有must, can/could, may/might等。他们用在句中表示推 测时,没有时态的区别,只是表示语气的强弱。could, might表示推测时不是 时态。 情态动词: must may might can’t

1. must (一定): 表示具有很大的可能性. He must be ill . He doesn’t come today . 2. may (可能): 暗含不确定的意思. He may be at home .

3. might :表可能,但它的含义比may 更不确定. He might come soon

4. can’t (不可能):有确凿的证据表示不可能。That beautiful T-shirt can’t be Tom’s. He hates black color. 自主造句: _________________________________ . (2)windy是形容词,意为“ ”,由名词wind+y构成。

英语中有很多名词加后缀y变成了形容词,本课学过一些表示天气的单词,请写下来。rain--rainy, . 4. What will the weather be like?意为“____ ”。此句是用来询问将来的天气。

【练习运用】

明天的天气怎么样?___________________________________________________ 自主造句:____________________________________________________________. 5. We’re off to Hong Kong. 我们要动身去香港。

be off to = go to / leave for 意为“动身去…..”。

句中off 是副词,表示“分离;移动”之意,作为be动词的补语时,也可视为形容词。

【练习运用】

We’re off to Shanghai..= We Shanghai. =We Shanghai. 自主造句:____________________________________________________________. 6.小组自我补充

(二)自主完成后,小组合作,交流学习成果,共同释疑。 (三)让学生疯狂朗读以上重点知识。

六、归纳短语

通过对对话的学习,让学生归纳本课的短语,可以小组合作,然后通过实物投影呈现出一个小组的成果,然后其他小组补充完善。

应当包括以下短语:

(四)默写,组长交叉监督,各组统计好分数,评出优胜小组。 八、说的训练
